   If Mykonos is dedicated to the sun and the body, the Greek Island of Patmos is dedicated to the soul. It was here that in Biblical times John received the Revelations. Later a fortified monastery filled with warrior-monks dominated this part of the Aegean Sea. Nowadays there are two towns Chora clustered around the hilltop monastery, and Skala, the port by the sea - but mostly Patmos is an island asleep with grand memories. It is a place to unwind, stare out to sea and create your own dreams. Thomas McKnight and his wife Renate passed some halcyon days here hiking its goat trails searching for views and watching for shooting stars at night.

   Eight Caribbean Daydreams comprise Thomas McKnight's latest suite of silkscreens. After seeing Thomas McKnight's Caribbean Daydreams it is hard to imagine this necklace of tropical islands any other way. McKnight's sapphire seas, hibiscus reds and swaying palms bring back the smell of frangipani, salt water and the sound of the steel band playing in the next cove.
